Yet another reason to be a landlord
During this time of economic mayhem landlords are finding the way of life quite easy, I'm sure many of you have heard about how landlords are benefiting from the recession. There are many reasons surrounding the success landlords are having at the moment, these could be the current state of the housing market or the amount of people looking to rent. There are other ways in which landlords can benefit from the climate and one of these includes the construction industry.
Millions of pounds are spent every ear in renovations and can increase a properties market or renting value ten-fold. A way in which landlords are able to use the recession to their advantage is by using the lack of work in the construction industry and using it to their advantage. There are many of builders and tradesmen that are finding it increasingly difficult to find work, which have forced them to lower their fees in an effort to be more competitive. This decrease in builders charges means that if a landlord would be looking to refurbish their let property now would be the time to do so as prices are expected to keep falling in the construction industry until 2011.
