Reminder to check for toxic gas leaks
After a study published by the University of Oxford that concluded nearly 1,100 Britons die of Toxic gas poising each year, landlords are being reminded to check if their policies are exposed to high levels of toxic gas, protecting both themselves and tenants.
By simply checking boilers and heating systems it is not always easy to determine as to whether the property is exposed to levels of toxic gas.
Landlords should initially check to see if their properties are built on top of a soil that is uranium rich, which specialists believe puts properties most at risk. This can be established by contacting their local council or people alike, who will be able to establish if this is the case with their properties.
If a property is built upon affected soil, the property should have good ventilation systems and a randon sump should be considered.
