Quiet Roads over the Christmas period
Its Christmas time and the UK will be getting ready to fill their cars and head off to their relations. Faced with the usual queues, traffic jams, and constant traffic reports on the radio.
But this year the roads will be empty, traffic jams will seem to be no more, and public transport will be comfortable and not over crowded.
The change in the predictable transporting is due to the day of the week that Christmas falls on. As Christmas is on a Thursday the driving patterns of the UK have been staggered, depending on the days that they have off work. This means that the roads and public transport will not be busy again until 5th January.
There hasn’t been a dramatic drop in the level of people that are travelling to family over Christmas but the current credit crunch has changed a few peoples view and they are now staying at home.
