Nottingham landlord fined for breaches in fire safety
The landlord of a block of flats in the Radford area of Nottingham has been fined £6,000 for failure to fit fire safety and detection equipment by Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecution was brought about after the fire service attended a fire at the ground floor flat of the block in June of 2008, in which a second floor resident had to be rescued
The resulting investigation in to the fire found that the property had no fire precautions or detection equipment in either the flats or the common areas.
The courts also ordered £3,772 in costs to be paid by the landlord who pleaded guilty to four counts of breaching fire safety regulations.
