Merger creates largest landlord association in the UK

The merger between the National Landlords Association (NLA) and the National Federation of Residential Landlords (NRFL) will create the largest association to represent landlords.

With some 20,000 residential landlords between them, the merger is the result of several months of negotiations between the two governing bodies with the members of both surveyed to take their views into account.

The landlords of both organisations have been listened to in that they want a unified national voice in which to put their points of view across to policy makers.

The NRFL will be incorporated into the NLA with the enlarged NLA incorporating the best aspects of both to better represent the needs of landlords as the housing market faces a major challenge due to the credit crunch.

A wider range of products and services will now be available to all members of the enlarged NLA and an increased development of landlord networks.

The currant directors of the NLA will stay, with one of the two new directors from the NRFL becoming Vice Chairman of the NLA.
