Police searched the let premises of Phoenix Massage Parlour in Harehills after establishing that the business had been surreptitiously running as a brothel on the internet since last February. Over 10 different prostitutes had worked at the premises most mainly from eastern European countries.
Bajrami herself was a veteran of the profession and had opened the massage parlour-cum-brothel in a bid to improve her own quality of life especially since the birth of her 15 month-year-old son, who was now the 'centre of her world.' Bajrami appeared in court pleading guilty to her charges, however her defense laboured the point that her position as the brothels madam had been a misguided attempt to better herself.
