Landlords fight back
A Group called Landlord Action was set up to help landlords take back some control from private tenants. Landlord Action will help landlords recover their properties from bad tenants.
Up to now private tenants have had all the control where the government was concerned. They wanted to empower tenants by making them more financially independent and make them learn how to manage their own money. Their housing benefit was paid directly to them, however more often than not where money was tight; there was no urgency to pay the landlords their rent. Some landlords haven’t received any payment in months.
Landlords are thinking twice about letting their properties to housing authorities. They are suffering in our current economy and are at risk of loosing their investments; this situation is not helped when housing association tenants are not paying their rent. Landlords now have the powers to remove those tenants from their properties unless they have a valid reason for their rent being late. News brought to you by www.insuremyletproperty.co.uk.
