Landlords are losing out to homeowners
Landlords are losing out on potential lets due to frustrated homeowners having no alternative option but to let out their unsellable properties due to falling house prices.
A recent report from surveyors suggests that homeowners are having a powerful affect on the rental market causing many landlords unable to fill their properties. Landlords have to reduce their rental prices in order to fill their properties which are making it harder for them to meet their mortgage repayments.
What was once a good investment is now a burden for many landlords. The surveyors have announced that it’s not all gloom, in some areas there is an increase in rental demand which will help struggling landlords. Many prospective home buyers are watching the pennies and don’t want to risk taking on a mortgage in today’s current economic climate.
