Landlords are vital to the housing market
The buy-to-let market will prove to be vital in the new year, according to the National Landlords Association (NLA). The association predicted that a significant boom in the rental sector would have reverberations through the rest of the housing market.
David Salusbury the chairman for the NLA commented that the private rental sector had seen vital improvements throughout the year, however the difference could really be seen at the end of 2009.However he warned that these improvements must continue throughout 2010, if the housing market was to reap any of the benefits.
Salusbury said, "The coming year does look more positive, rental prices seem to be improving as a number of ''reluctant'' landlords leave the rental market and the demand for rental property increases."
Landlords have suffered a great deal of financial pressure with the recession. Many have been forced to sell part or all of their property portfolios when tenants have failed to pay rent or in the worse case scenario have failed to fill properties.
There are options available to landlords to guarantee a constant stream of revenue; such measures vary greatly in effectiveness however 'rent guarantee' schemes have been a popular idea with landlords. By adding extra clauses to their let property insurance, landlords can protect themselves if a tenant is declared bankrupt or is unable to pay his dues.
Insure My Let Property provides landlords with the means for high quality landlord insurance but with a premium that suits your budget.
