Landlord found guilty over state of let property
A Bradford landlord has been found guilty and fined £1,400, along with court costs of £1,708 after failing to license his let property and leaving it in a poor state of repair.
The prosecution followed after Bradford Council Officers visited the property for an inspection, discover that the boiler was leaking, electrical wires were exposed, there was no door to the kitchen and the home was generally dirty.
To add to the list of issues, the landlord had not implemented clear means of escape in the event of a fire and fire extinguishers had never been checked.
A spokesman for the landlord commented that these tasks had never been sorted as he was unable to gain access to the property and many of the incomplete tasks were delegated to other people.
