Incease of landlords are renting to students
The student rental market looks to have expanded over the last 10 years as more students look to higher standards of accommodation, containing all the luxuries of their family homes.
When you think of student houses, instantly you think of a messy rundown apartment, gone off food, left over's from the party the night before and living standards as poor as they could possibly be; that was a thing of the past. Residential landlords are now renting out swish apartments to students, containing flat screen TV's, WiFi internet access and even a cleaning maid twice a week, some are even fitted with dishwashers.
It seems that budget accommodation has now been replaced with the more luxurious way of living as more students become willing to pay up to £500 a week in the larger UK Cities, to give them a taste of home and the opportunity to not have to share bathrooms and kitchens with strangers. Figures from 1999 report that only 2 percent of residential landlords were happy to rent their properties to students, however 2009 has seen an 8 percent increase, which looks to increase as they become more trusting to the students of today.
Insure My Let Property provides a range of let property insurance to meet the needs of UK landlords, including student lets, DSS, asylum seekers and holiday homes.
