Housebuilders desperate, but not that desperate it seems

Forget lowering the price of new build developments that would be too easy for troubled house builders in the UK.

Instead offer a brand new car, that‘ll get people through the door and buying!

This is the approach being used by a Newquay developer in trying to shift 65 new build flats on the market from £249,999 to £1.5 million.

The cars ranging from a £9,000 smart car up to a Mercedes or Range Rover worth £50,000 to £55,000 have been offered in a vain effort to stimulate the market and beat the current slump.

However with prices sliding as quickly as they are buyers would be better off waiting until the market has fallen 25 per cent and then buy a fleet of cars with the savings.

Another developer in Plymouth is threatening to sue buyers who pull out of their development of luxury flats.

These stories show how the desperate the market is becoming as some 4,500 jobs have already gone with as many as 60,000 in the firing line to be axed.
