From buy to let to rich list
The buy-to-let market may be in a state of flux but canny investing can still provide a foundation for wealth. It took 30-year-old Sean O'Connor from university to being the highest new entry on this year's UK Young People's Rich List. At the height of the boom his portfolio of forty properties must have made his buy to let insurance premiums eye-watering.
But canny Mr O'Connor got out of buy to let three years ago and moved into the carbon trading market. This boom area is protected, to some extent, from an economic downturn because EU legislation is forcing companies to get involved.
Mr O'Connor used the connections he made while building his buy to let empire to get the new initiative off the ground. Now standing at an estimated £33 million, and sandwiched between Hollywood stars Daniel Radcliffe and Keira Knightley, he no longer has to worry about ringing up for a landlords insurance quote.
News brought to you by Insure My Let Property providing UK landlords with a comprehensive amount of let property insurance.
